Setting the MTU in Windows
If you are having an MTU problem, then websites such as www.ebay.com and www.hotmail.com will probably not come up on your computer. Here are the instructions on fixing this problem:
Click this link to run Dr. TCP: Dr. TCP You are going to see a window similar to the one to the below. The first setting you want is in the "TCP Receive" Window - set that to 30756. ![]()
The next setting is the MTU. Down under Adapter Settings, you want to choose each adapter one by one using the dropdown menu, and then set the MTU to 1400 for each. Your list under adapter settings will probably look nothing like the one below, but you still want to select each adapter and set the MTU for them to 1400.
![]() Once each adapter is set to 1400, click the Save button at the bottom. It will tell you the Settings saved successfully.
![]() You can then click OK and then click the Exit button at the bottom. After you have closed Dr. TCP, go ahead and shut down and restart your computer.
When the computer comes back up, try going to www.ebay.com and just make sure that comes up, if it does you were successful!
