Setting the MTU on a Macintosh
If www.ebay.com and www.hotmail.com do not come up correctly on your computer, you may be experiencing an MTU problem. The following steps will help you address and solve this issue.
Click this link to download RMAC. After successfully downloading this file, you should see an icon similar to the one below: ![]()
The first setting you want to change is going to be the net.inet.tcp.recvspace. You want to set this to 30756. (See diagram below).
![]()
The other option you will need to change is the MTU setting at the bottom. You want to choose the device(s) that begin with en. You will most likely have at least one called en0, and there may be additional interfaces en1, en2, etc. You want to choose each one and set the MTU to 1400. (See diagram below).
![]() Once you've changed the MTU to 1400, go ahead and click on the Apply Now button. It will then ask you for the system password. This is not your 3DG Wireless password, but the password that you used to set up the computer. (See diagram below).
![]() After you enter your passowrd and click OK, the changes you just made will be saved. Click over to the Options tab at the top, and then put a check in the box labeled Install RMAC to StartupItem. (See diagram below).
![]() Once this is completed, you can close the application. Try going to www.ebay.com. If it comes up correctly, you were successful.
